GOALKEEPER
Cristian Lucchetti (Banfield)
It isn't often that a goalkeeper scores twice in a game, but Lucchetti achieved this in Banfield's victory over Arsenal, although both goals were penalties. He also kept a clean sheet.
DEFENDERS
Hugo Ibarra (Boca)
Boca struggled to break down a resilient Tigre side although they dominated great part of the match. Ibarra was as lively as ever for Boca and looked solid both when defending and when attacking.
Guillermo Rodriguez (Independiente)
His performance against Newell's would surely have done a lot to answer his critics. The Uruguayan was a rock in the centre of the Independiente defense, particularly when dealing with high balls.
Cristian Villagra (River)
Villagra has been in superb form this season, and looked strong both in the defense and in the attack. The left-back loves to move forward at every opportunity and was crucial in River's heroic victory.
MIDFIELDERS
Daniel Montenegro (Independiente)
He didn't get on the scoresheet, but Montenegro was always a threat as his team crushed Newell's. The attacking midfielder was at the head of Independiente's best attacking moves. Diego Maradona's "new" no.10 continues to be a class act.
Marcelo Gallardo (River)
Although he played just over half an hour, Gallardo made a massive impact on the game by setting up River's equalizer with an inch-perfect cross. He also came close to scoring himself. It seems that Gallardo has rediscovered his form since returning to Los Millonarios.
Matias De Federico (Huracan)
Played a key role as his side picked up a valuable victory. He commanded the Huracan midfield and assisted his front men with a number of fine assists. His dribbling and vision was also world-class.
Matias Oyola (Colon)
The tiny winger caused havoc for the San Lorenzo defense time and time again with his brilliant dribbling and eye for goal. He was a constant threat, and was crucial in his team's big win.
FORWARDS
Esteban Fuertes (Colon)
Despite being 36 years old, Fuertes continues to be one of the deadliest strikers in Argentina with 142 goals in the First Division. He scored two powerful goals as Colon cruised past San Lorenzo to extend his tally to four goals this season.
Joaquin Larrivey (Velez)
His third goal of the season proved his worth, particularly because it was during a crucial game. Larrivey always looked dangerous and could have even scored a second goal.
Radamel Falcao Garcia (River)
He asked to take the penalty in second half injury-time and converted it to give River a vital win. Falcao never stopped trying and this motivated the side as they claimed the victory. By far River's standout performer.
